But just like with any other slimming drug, the hype didn’t last long before the media began reporting daunting scientific findings and negative testimonials from celebrities and billionaires who used it.

Many honourable doctors also voiced concerns, warning against the abuse of injections for purposes other than their intended use – treating diabetes and obesity.

That’s why people started returning to ancient wisdom in search of slimming solutions. This has led to the rediscovery of two plants that mimic the effects of injections but have no adverse effects.

However, big pharmaceutical companies and their lobbyists are desperately trying to keep these two ancient solutions from the public because they are much cheaper and threaten to undermine their multi-million monopoly.

One of the oldest and most fundamental Ayurvedic texts praises the first medicinal plant for its ability to boost digestion and metabolism, balance blood glucose, and promote weight loss.

Today, independent researchers have linked these effects to the stimulation of the same satiety hormone that the injections target, confirming what traditional Ayurvedic physicians knew all along.

Its biggest rival comes from traditional Chinese medicine, where it was first documented in one of the oldest Chinese herbal texts dating back to the Han Dynasty.

Just like the first herb, it has been proven that this Chinese plant can stimulate the satiety hormone and help you lose weight as efficiently as the famous injections.

So, which ancient plant is more effective in promoting weight loss? And can they truly replace weight-loss injections? Join us as we delve deep into the history of herbal wisdom and uncover the secrets of the massive pharmaceutical empire behind slimming drugs.

This hormone is the reason for big appetite, blood sugar imbalances, and weight gain

Slimming injections contain different synthetic peptides, but they all have the same goal – to stimulate a natural hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 or, shortly, GLP-1.

This hormone is responsible for making you feel full after eating. “It tells your body to start absorption and to suppress your hunger signals,” says Sinju Sundaresan, a gut physiologist at Midwestern University (Source). Without GLP-1, your appetite regulation would be impaired, making it impossible to feel satisfied after eating.

GLP-1 also plays a crucial role in regulating blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin secretion from the pancreas in response to meals. This helps to lower blood glucose spikes and prevent cravings for sugary or high-calorie foods. 

Moreover, GLP-1 inhibits the release of a hormone called glucagon from the pancreas, reducing the liver’s production of glucose and further contributing to blood sugar control.

Additionally, GLP-1 slows down the rate at which the stomach empties its contents into the small intestine. This delay in gastric emptying can prolong the feeling of fullness after eating and prevent overeating.

Thus, by stimulating GLP-1, you don’t just impact one mechanism that affects blood sugar. You influence all three key processes: insulin secretion, inhibition of glucagon release, and slowing of gastric emptying. “The net result is decreased hunger, prolonged fullness and ultimately weight loss,” concludes Dr McGowan, a gastroenterologist specialising in obesity medicine and endobariatrics (Source).

This multilevel action is what makes injections so effective in treating obesity and diabetes.

However, contrary to natural solutions, injections keep levels of GLP-1 high over weeks and weeks at a time. This raises many health concerns, some of which are even life-threatening.

Experts ask: are health risks, pain, and bankruptcy worth it?

Experts warn that the long-term effects of the consistent presence of a synthetic molecule that signals satiation, which is naturally present for just a few minutes after food ingestion, remain unknown (Source).

So far, we know that injections cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and infections from usage of needles. One of the most talked about effects is also aged, sagging skin that happens due to rapid weight loss.

Moreover, injections have also been linked to more serious complications such as pancreatitis, cardiovascular issues, gallbladder disease, and kidney problems.

Despite this, for people who struggle with type 2 diabetes, the benefits could outweigh the risks. “But whether they can be safely used for all people who simply want to lose an extra 10 to 20 pounds is questionable,” says Dr A. Enrique Caballero, an endocrinologist at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Source).

The research also shows that people who use injections are likely to regain lost weight. “In fact, people who stop taking these drugs will often regain the weight unless they have truly established a consistent and effective change in their eating and physical activity habits,” warns Dr Caballero.

The question is, why would you risk your health, fear the yo-yo effect, endure the pain caused by needles, and pay thousands of euros when nature has already provided us with two safe, affordable, and effective solutions?

Ancient Chinese medicine for diabetes found in a 2,000-year-old script

The first documented use of this slimming plant dates back to the Han Dynasty and is recorded in the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing, one of the oldest and most important texts in Chinese herbal medicine.

Originally known as Sang Ye (桑叶), we today recognise it as White Mulberry. Its most praised parts are the leaves, which were traditionally used to balance blood sugar levels, improve digestion, reduce cravings, and help in diabetes management.

Today, scientists understand that White Mulberry’s powerful slimming properties are due to its ability to influence the famous satiation hormone GLP-1.

White Mulberry does this in two steps. First, it slows down the breakdown of carbohydrates in the gut, which means that sugar enters your bloodstream more slowly (Source). In response, your body releases more GLP-1. This results in smaller blood sugar spikes and a prolonged feeling of satiety.

For example, a study conducted by the Oxford Brookes Centre for Nutrition and Health found that White Mulberry leaf extract reduced peak blood glucose by 42% and peak insulin by 41% (Source)!

Scientists say White Mulberry could replace slimming injections

Some researchers also measured weight loss by taking White Mulberry extract, and they reported incredible results. A recent study found that, on average, participants lost 9 kilograms, which is approximately 10% of their initial body weight. This was achieved in just 3 months (Source).

Dr Murray, one of the world’s leading authorities on natural medicine, concludes: “These results show quite clearly that the use of mulberry extract can dramatically accelerate weight loss in dieting subjects and presumably does so by improving blood sugar control(Source).”

In comparison, a large clinical trial testing slimming injections also resulted in patients losing nearly 10% of their body weight. However, these results were achieved over the course of 65 weeks (Source), which is approximately a year longer than the study on the Chinese herb.

That’s why Dr Murray says: “Rather than getting seduced by the latest ‘miracle’ product for weight loss that has little (if any) scientific basis, consumers should focus on those natural products with a stronger portfolio of research showing safety and efficacy (Source).”

However, White Mulberry isn’t the only ancient plant showing promising clinical results in managing weight and blood sugar imbalances and preventing diabetes. Its rival originates from another traditional medicine system that emerged on the opposite side of the Himalayas about 5,000 years ago.

A powerful slimming herb praised by ancient Ayurvedic physicians 

Even older than White Mulberry is a slimming herb that originates from ancient India. In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, this herb held incredible importance.

That’s why, even today, experts are actively studying its various uses, which are documented in Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita, two of the oldest and most authoritative texts in Ayurveda.

One of the herb’s most praised effects is its ability to enhance digestive fire, also known as agni, which ancient Ayurvedic physicians believed to be crucial for food breakdown, nutrient absorption, appetite regulation, post-meal lightness, and overall health.

This ancient plant is called Daruharidra or Indian barberry. Today, we know its metabolic and health properties are attributed to berberine, the unique active compound of the alkaloid family.

Just like White Mulberry, berberine achieves this through interaction with the hormone GLP-1. However, their mechanisms of action differ.

While White Mulberry slows carbohydrate metabolism and indirectly stimulates GLP-1, berberine directly enhances GLP-1 secretion from intestinal cells and increases GLP-1 receptor sensitivity in the pancreas and brain (Source).

This results in enhanced insulin sensitivity, which leads to more efficient glucose uptake into cells for energy production. For instance, a meta-analysis found that berberine improves insulin sensitivity by an average of 20.8% (Source). This result is more stable blood sugar levels and appetite.

In addition to its effects on insulin sensitivity, berberine has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels by 23% and triglycerides in the blood by 12.2% (Source). This can help improve lipid profiles and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Combining these effects, berberine helps you stay healthy and lose weight, especially around the waist. A study published in Phytomedicine reported an average loss of 3.5% pure body fat over 12 weeks of supplementation (Source).

Moreover, the researchers also compared berberine to a famous diabetes medicine in a triple-blind clinical trial of over 200 participants, finding that berberine can be just as effective at reducing blood glucose as a medical-grade drug (Source).

Thus, with its potent effects, proven safety, natural origin, and accessibility, berberine is a serious threat to the pharmaceutical empire. But how does it compare to its Chinese counterpart, White Mulberry?

Rivals or allies? Comparing the two most powerful plants for weight loss

Berberine enhances insulin sensitivity, boosts glucose metabolism, and regulates lipid metabolism. These actions help manage weight by preventing fat accumulation and reducing cravings, particularly for sugary foods and carbs.

On the other hand, White Mulberry breaks down carbohydrates into simple sugars, reducing the absorption of sugar from food. This slows down blood sugar spikes after meals, leading to better insulin sensitivity, stable appetite, and sustained energy levels.

So, both these plants help you lose weight, but they achieve that with different mechanisms.

Therefore, the question isn’t which one is better but rather whether they can work in synergy. The answer is yes. Together, these two plants can yield more significant results than when used alone.

However, they don’t only bring double results when it comes to weight loss. Together, they can also strengthen overall health and increase longevity.

As shown, berberine lowers cholesterol levels and improves lipid profiles, leading to reduced cardiovascular risk.

Berberine also has strong protective properties against oxidative stress and inflammation, which are two main culprits behind ageing and chronic disease (Source).

These protective properties, in combination with berberine’s ability to cause cancer cell death, prevent cancer cell replication, and inhibit enzymes involved in the life cycle of cancer cells, also encouraged research of using berberine to fight prostate, liver, bone, and breast cancer cells (Source).

“It exhibits various biological activities and has been shown to have pharmacological effects such as dilating blood vessels, reducing blood pressure, regulating immunity, inducing penile erection, inhibiting inflammation, and treating cancer,” concludes registered nutritional therapist Helen Perks (Source).

Similarly, White Mulberry also fights inflammation and microbes, helps neutralise free radicals and protects the immune system. That’s why the research shows it can potentially lower bad cholesterol (Source), alleviate arthritis (Source), and even fight cancer (Source).

“These pharmacological effects of mulberry leaves are closely related to their phenolic composition. Plant phenolic compounds have been reported to play a preventive role against various diseases owing to their remarkable antioxidant, antimicrobial, and other activities,” explains authors in a recently published paper in BMC Chemistry Journal (Source).

So, these two plants not only aid in weight loss but also promote long-term health benefits. This stands in stark contrast to weight-loss injections, which make huge profits off customers over a short period, leaving them with nothing but debt and a long list of health problems.

Why big pharma doesn’t want you to know about these plants

Big pharma

Weight-loss injections are incredibly lucrative for big pharmaceutical empires, and their profits are expected to grow exponentially. 

According to Reuters, the market is estimated to be worth as much as 150 billion dollars by the early 2030s (Source). That’s more than the size of today’s cancer treatment market.

The Danish company behind the two most popular obesity medications is now driving most of the country’s economic growth. The impact is so significant that Denmark had to exclude the company’s profits from their annual economic statistics(Source).

Unsurprisingly, the pharmaceutical companies producing slimming injections are the same companies producing COVID-19 vaccines. Now, it seems like these corporations will make even more profit from the pandemic of obesity and diabetes than from the coronavirus pandemic.

That’s why big pharma and their lobbyists are trying to undermine any emerging solutions. The biggest threat to them comes from nutraceutical companies, which are developing natural supplements that act on GLP-1.

But what kind of formula could rival weight-loss injections? Our experts suggest that combining White Mulberry and Indian Barberry could be the answer.

So, we conducted research to find supplements that contained at least one of these ancient plants. To our surprise, we found a supplement that integrates both into a single capsule.
