The incense comes from the incense tree "Boswelia Serrata". The species of the genus Boswellia grow in India and elsewhere. The milky gum resin (olibanum) from the trunk of the tree is dried, which produces the incense resin. This resin has a coarse-grained to lumpy consistency and a slightly transparent brownish-yellow to reddish-brown colour.
