We are talking about a spice called turmeric and its naturally occurring compound curcumin. They might not have superstar sounding names but they sure pack a health punch!

Turmeric is a spice which helps to colour many Eastern cuisines including curries. As well as turning our favourite foods into a yellow-golden colour, it has also been used for centuries by the Chinese and Indians for its medicinal qualities.

In recent years, Western scientists have started to research into turmeric and curcumin and have found some very exciting findings. So, let’s have a look at a few of the incredible benefits the spice has to offer!

Prevention of Cancer

Although research is still ongoing, previous studies suggest that curcumin can help in preventing, controlling or even attacking certain types of cancers.

Research has shown that it can reduce metastasis (spreading of cancer), angiogenesis (the growth of blood vessels in tumours) and help destroy certain cancerous cells.

As research is still ongoing it’s difficult to know whether it can help prevent all forms of cancer. Yet, curcumin seems to be effective against digestive cancers. A study with 44 men whom all had lesions in their colon which could have potentially have turned cancerous was conducted. Only 4gs of curcumin daily for 30 days was needed to reduce the amount of lesions by 40%.

Research is ongoing but it clearly can’t hurt to add more curcumin into your diet!

Relief from Arthritis

Unfortunately, no cure is available to those who suffer from arthritis as of yet. Its painful symptoms can be debilitating, making even the simplest of tasks incredibly tough. The pain and the difficulty caused by arthritis is the result of inflammation in the joints. Curcumin is a powerful anti-inflammatory and can therefore help provide some much needed relief from arthritis.

One study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found curcumin to be as effective as ibuprofen in reducing pain related to arthritis, without any of the side effects associated with the painkiller.

Another study published by Phytotherapy Research discovered that curcumin was significantly more effective than Diclofenac, an anti-inflammatory drug and again had no adverse side effects.

If you are suffering from arthritis and are having no relief, consider taking a daily dose of curcumin for a month and see if it helps you!

Help with Depression

Curcumin is beginning to show signs of being an effective natural anti-depressant. A clinical study split 60 patients dealing with major depression into three groups; a Prozac group, a curcumin group and a Prozac and curcumin group.

After six weeks the curcumin group had the same improvements of those in the Prozac group in levels of depression.

Depression is related to low levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) as well as other brain activities. Curcumin increases levels of BDNF and can therefore help reduce cases of depression.

In the above study, those we took both Prozac and curcumin saw the most improvements. Consequently, if you are suffering from severe depression it is advised you speak to your doctor first. If you are rather dealing with low levels of depression, curcumin could help a lot but please consult a doctor first.

Preventing and Treating Alzheimer’s Disease

In the UK, an estimated 850,000 people are impacted by Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and this is predicted to double by 2050.

In many Eastern nations, the number of those developing Alzheimer’s or dementia is less than those in the West. Back in the mid-2000s researchers were intrigued by the lower numbers of Indians facing AD and decided to investigate into their diets, looking at curry consumption and cognitive functioning.

They published their findings in the American Journal of Epidemiology in 2006. They found that those who regularly ate curry (and therefore consumed a lot of curcumin) scored significantly higher scores on their MMSE (measures of cognitive function) than those we rarely or never ate curry.

Due to turmeric and curcumin’s anti-inflammatory as well as anti-oxidative properties, it is no wonder those who consume them regularly have fair superior cognitive functioning.

All in a Day Curcuma

As you can see, turmeric and curcumin are pretty incredible! If we were to list all of their health benefits, we could be here for some time but the above only scratches the surface!

Our scientists at Sensilab were therefore very keen to develop a product that uses this incredible spice in the most efficient way possible. They designed and created the All in a Day Curcuma using only 100% natural active ingredient.

For most people, it is impossible to consume enough turmeric and curcumin daily due to its very strong taste. The All in a Day Curcuma has no taste to it and packs 400mg of turmeric extract (with 95% curcumin).

It stands out from other turmeric based supplements as it contains black pepper. Curcumin is poorly absorbed into our bloodstream. However, when consumed with pepper it enhances absorption by up to 2000%! This is due to black pepper containing piperine, a natural alkaloid.

Give this superstar supplement a go and see all the incredible health benefits for yourself. For a limited time only get 15% off the All in a Day Curcuma using promocode 15PEROFF!
